❤ BOOK REVIEW: VERONICA ROTH'S ALLEGIANT ❤

*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*
When I first watched the film adaptation of the first book in this trilogy, Divergent, I didn't think it'd be that good. I was so wrong. The film adaptation of Divergent convinced me to buy and read all three books in the series so I could find out what happens to Tris and the faction system.
Divergent begins with Beatrice Prior, a 16 year old girl living in an dystopian future where people are sent to live in a certain faction (Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Candor and Amity) based on their personality traits. For example, selfless people would live in Abnegation and the brave would live in Dauntless, ect. But after Beatrice does her test, the results show that she is Divergent, which means she fits into all five factions and must make the biggest decision of her life. Does she stay with her parents in Abnegation or move to a different faction? The problem for Beatrice is that she can't tell anyone that she is Divergent as they are discriminated against and are seen as dangerous. In the end, she chooses to live in Dauntless, where she meets and befriends Christina and becomes close with Dauntless leader, Four.
Unfortunately, at the end of Divergent, the faction system begins to fall apart and in Insurgent, Beatrice (now known as Tris) and Four (now known as Tobias) must find out the truth behind the faction system. At the end of Insurgent, Tris discovers that the Divergents aren't dangerous due to an old video message by a woman who goes by the name of Edith Prior (one of Tris' ancestors) and she says that the world had become corrupt and the city was sealed off from the rest of the world. The faction system was developed in order to create peace.
Now, in Allegiant, the faction-based society that Tris is used to has been shattered and fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. She is offered the chance to visit a world beyond the fence, which separated the city from the rest of the world, and leaves her home. She hopes that, with Tobias, she can find a new life and start again, without worrying about hiding who she truly is. Unfortunately, Tris' new reality is more alarming than the one she left behind, she discovers a secret about her mother and, once again, she must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature whilst facing difficult choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
This is, by far, my favourite out of the trilogy. It moves the story forward with lots of new characters. There are plenty of shocking discoveries and moments in the book which will definitely make you cry.
A thrilling conclusion to a great series.
I'd recommend this to fans of The Hunger Games.

❤ Meeting Carrie Hope Fletcher ❤

I met Carrie Hope Fletcher today! (09/05/15)
So if you read my last blogpost yesterday, which was a review of Carrie Hope Fletcher's book All I Know Now, you'll know that I was meeting Carrie today and I had the best time. Honestly I couldn't be more happier, Carrie is such a sweet, down-to-earth person.
I got to the signing at about 4:30pm and the queue was massive! I didn't have to wait long though, I think I waited about half an hour in the queue and I got my seat a bit near the back. I sat patiently with my book, phone and camera on my lap for about 15 minutes until a guy introduced Carrie and she walked right past me
She started off by talking about her book and then she did a Q&A and answered my question! I couldn't believe it when the guy handed me the microphone and I asked her what she got from Starbucks which made everyone laugh. She laughed along with everyone and replied with 'a vanilla chai latte'. I was so happy and smiled throughout the rest of the evening.
After asking questions from the audience, she read a chapter from All I Know Now where she talks about when she went to Lake Tahoe in California on a school trip and how she got chased by a bear(now if that isn't a reason to buy her book and read it, I don't know what is)!
After reading from her book, she answered a few more questions from the audience and then performed two songs, 'We Are Never Getting Back Together' by Taylor Swift and her own song, 'Boys In Books'.
At the end of performing Boys In Books, the guy announced that it was time for her signing and we all rushed to queue up, excitedly. I was in the middle and waited just under an hour to meet her.
When I did finally meet her, I thanked her for answering my question and told her that I would have to try the vanilla chai latte and she said that it was 'so good!' And then I got my picture with her and I went on my way, with the biggest smile on my face.
If Carrie is reading this I'd like to say the biggest THANK YOU for making my day the best day.
Here's my picture with Carrie :)

❤ Book Review: Carrie Hope Fletcher's All I Know Now ❤

Have you ever wished you had a big sister? Or someone to look up to? Someone to give advice and be there for you in times of need.
Well, wish no more as you can find all of these things in here, metaphorically speaking, of course.

Carrie Hope Fletcher's book, All I Know Now, is perfect if you desperately want advice but can't seek it from friends, families, teachers, ect. She talks about issues that teenagers are currently struggling with today such as making friends, bullying and having crushes. She also talks about her life growing up whilst giving advice along the way.
I love this book as it is perfect for anyone who is struggling and in need of help. All I Know Now first started off as a blog on Tumblr (which you can still visit), where she would write long blogposts on certain topics. The very first blogpost was published on April 27th 2013, so she has been working on this for over two years now. She has put so much dedication into helping others by writing this book and it has certainly paid off.
Whether you're a 12 year old on your first day of school or a 20 year old worrying about your first job interview, this book is perfect for you.
Carrie is also best known for being a YouTuber so if you've watched any of her videos, you'll know that she is a very sweet, funny person and her personality shines in this book. All her opinions have come straight from the heart and every word in this book is written by her so you needn't worry about 'ghostwriters' or anything like that!
I would recommend this book to anyone in need of help or just looking for a few words of advice.
All I Know Now is available at:

I will be meeting Carrie Fletcher herself at her Manchester book signing tomorrow (May 9th) and I shall do a blogpost afterwards. :)
UPDATE: I met Carrie, here is my blogpost of my day :)

❤ Lush Haul ❤

On Friday, I visited the Trafford Centre, one of my favourite places to shop in Manchester and I bought myself a few things from Lush.
Here is what I bought :)
The 'Cupcake' Fresh Face Mask
I have used this face mask in the past and it is by far one of my favourite face masks. It smells just like chocolate cupcakes and feels so good on my skin. It contains rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, and works with cocoa powder to draw out all of the dirt and impurities and give it a deep cleanse. Fresh mint is also one of the main ingredients which stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise the skin. To get amazing results from this face mask, leave this in your fridge and use within 3 weeks. When using, leave on your face for 10-15 minutes. My skin feels dry a lot of the time but after using this, it feels a lot softer and also looks better too.

'Space Girl' bath bomb
This is a space-dust filled bath bomb with a sweet and fruity fragrance. When you drop this into your bath, 'Space Girl' crackles with space dust (popping candy) as it spins around your orbit, restoring your good cheer. Ingredients include: grapefruit oil, which is refreshing and uplifting for the mood and clarifying and toning the skin and bergamot, which makes you feel relaxed and cheerful.

'Sakura' bath bomb
Lush have described this bath bomb as the celebration of spring, so when better to use it than in Spring? They also said that it was 'inspired' by the cherry blossom in Japan and is designed to evoke the burst of optimism so it is perfect to use if you're feeling a bit down and need some cheering up. Lush have used calming mimosa and jasmine oils complemented by lemon oil and orange flower to bring to mind the smell of the colourful season. It smells amazing and turns your bath into a pretty light pink colour.
'Granny Takes A Dip' bath bomb
This is the first time that I used this bath bomb and I have to say, I loved it! The moment I dropped it into my bath, it exploded into a mixture of colours, such as pink, red, green, blue and purple, so my bath looked amazing. The scent consisted of ginger, pepper and lemon, which I loved. One of the ingredients is lemon oil, which helps boosts the mood so this bath is perfect if you're having a bad day and need to relax.
