Highlights of 2014!

Welcome to my blog and my first ever blogpost, I hope you enjoy it! :)

May I just start off by saying a very happy new year, I hope 2014 was a great year for you and that 2015 is even better.

I would definitely say that 2014 was better than 2013, as I spent most of 2013 stressing over school and being ill and depressed a lot. While there were many low points, the high points outweight them so here are my highlights from every month of 2014!

January

January started 2014 off great for me as it was the month I met Tich again at Key103 radio station in Manchester. She was so sweet and I loved meeting her.
(By the way, I didn't get her that teddy, somebody else did)
If you've never heard of Tich, she's a singer/songwriter and she has released singles, such as Dumb, Obsession and Breathe In Breathe Out, on iTunes and has the most amazing voice.
You should definitely check her out if you haven't already.

February
Just after 3 weeks of seeing her at Key103, I met Tich again and watched her perform at her No One But Us tour at the Manchester Academy and she was just amazing! This was the last time I saw Tich and I hope to see her again soon!

March
I don't really remember much from March except that I watched Frozen for the first time on DVD (I know 3 months too late!) and it didn't disappoint me. When it was first released at the cinema in the UK in November/December, I didn't go as I didn't think it'd be that good but when I heard people who were around my age watching it and enjoying it, when it came out on DVD, I bought it and watched it straight away. I loved it! I loved the songs (especially Let It Go of course) and just wanted to watch it again.

April
In April, I went to London for two days and had an amazing time! I went to Madame Tussauds (which is one of my favourite places to visit in London) and I got lots of pictures with waxworks of my favourite celebrity which I posted on my Instagram (http://instagram.com/katiell0ydx). Yes, I know my fringe looks awful as I just had it cut two days before London and I look terrible, but oh well. This is a picture I got with Cheryl Fernadez-Versini's waxwork, little did I know I would meet her two months later haha!

May
May was the month I saw one of my favourite singers, Miley Cyrus, at her Bangerz tour and she was incredible! The last time I'd seen her was at her Wonder World tour in December 2009 so when I heard she was finally coming to Manchester again, I couldn't be more excited! I don't have any good quality photos but I have videos on my Instagram. It was such an amazing night and I will never forget it.
May was also the month I met Ella Henderson at Key103 radio station on her Ghost radio tour. A week earlier, I'd just heard her debut single, Ghost, on one of the music channels and I thought it was an amazing song and that she had the best voice. I loved meeting her and she was really sweet. This year I'm seeing her on tour with Take That and I couldn't be more excited.
June
June was another great month as it was the month I met Sam Faiers, best known for appearing in reality series The Only Way Is Essex, at her La Bella perfume signing. I queued for over an hour and a half to meet her as there were lots of fans wanting to meet her. When I finally did meet her, she was so sweet and down to earth. Her perfume smells so sweet as well, I love it and I always wear it if I'm off out.
I also met Cheryl Fernadez-Versini at the first day of X Factor auditions in Manchester and yes, yes, I know I look absolutely awful but I had gotten up at 8am and was really tired and I couldn't be bothered to do my hair which I now regret. Anway, I loved meeting Cheryl, I still can't believe I actually met her to be honest. She was the only judge to stop for all the fans and sign things and get pictures, none of the other judges did, but I wasn't too bothered about meeting them as I was only interested in meeting Cheryl as I was a huge fan of Girls Aloud from the age of 9 and had always wanted to meet her.

July
If I had to pick a favourite month, it would have to be July. This was the month after seeing my absolute favourite singer, Cher Lloyd, for the first time since April 2012. Basically, in early July, Cher announced she was coming back to the UK and I couldn't be more happier. She ran a competition to win tickets to her 'Glad To Be Back UK' party and to win, you would have to prove how much of a big Cher fan you were by making collages, videos, ect and I literally made 5 collages and even a video to try and win tickets. I was gobsmacked when Cher sent me a direct message saying I'd won, I simply couldn't believe it. I was seeing Cher! Before the party, I saw her at Key103 Summer Live and her performance was incredible, I was so proud of her. Then a few days later I was off to London to go to her gig. She was an amazing performer, as usual, and I couldn't believe how close I was to her. After she performed, we all queued up to meet her and I was near the front. I could barely breathe as we were led into a room where she was sat at her desk signing and getting pictures. When it was my turn to meet her, I told her that she was amazing performing tonight and she replied with 'Aw, thank you!', she was so sweet. I then asked her to sign my copy of Fabulous magazine, which she did. I remember meeting her at her Sticks + Stones signing back in November 2011 and I literally only got 10 seconds with her and couldn't remember much as I was literally star struck so I was so grateful to meet her again. Such an amazing night.

August
I didn't really do that much in August apart from a canal boat ride, which was a birthday present for my Grandma. Most people would probably think a canal boat ride would be boring but it was actually better than I expected. There were plenty of laughs along the way, especially when my two aunties and Grandad were trying their best to steer the boat. It was a fun experience to be honest and I'm hoping to go on another canal boat ride for my Grandad's birthday this year.

September
September was another favourite month as it was my 17th birthday, but two days before, I met Vicky Pattison, best known for appearing in reality series Geordie Shore, at her autobiography signing. People always judge celebrities that have appeared in reality TV shows but they are all really nice, especially Vicky. When we met, she complimented my skirt and said it was very 50s, and she was just really kind. I wish people would stop judging them.
My 17th birthday was a great day. I woke up at 9am and opened all my presents and then at about 12pm me and my three friends went to the Trafford Centre, which is a shopping centre in Manchester. We all went shopping and spent some time in the arcade, then went to Frankie & Bennys for tea. This was the first time I'd been there since I was about 9 and I ordered their 'Pasta Verde' which was absolutely delicious. Then we went home where I spent the evening blowing out the candles on my cake and watching Doctor Who and playing on the Wii with my friends.

October
In October, I was mainly at college a lot but one highlight that stood out to me was going to the 'Professional Beauty' show in Manchester which is where I met Amy Childs. Again, she is best know for appearing in The Only Way Is Essex but so much nicer when you meet her in person.

November
In November, I met Charlotte Crosby (from Geordie Shore) where she was launching her new clothes range at BANK at the Trafford Centre. I queued for about an hour to meet her and when I did meet her, we got two selfies together (a smiley one and a pouty one) but I'm not posting them as I look absolutely disgusting. Anway, I love her clothes and I am hoping to meet her again next Wednesday (7th January) as she's doing a signing for her fitness DVD at HMV in Manchester.
I also met Zoella (YouTuber) at her 'Girl Online' book signing and no, I didn't get a picture with her unfortunately as you weren't allowed, but she was really sweet. She hugged me and asked me how I was. Such an amazing day. Her book is really good as well, I finished it last month and I can't wait for her to release her second book and hopefully I'll meet her again and get a selfie!

December

Of course in December my highlight was Christmas. Such a great day spent with family and eating lots of food. The above picture is some of the presents I got from my family.

So there you have it, my highlights of 2014.
I can't wait to find out what my 2015 highlights will be :)
